Decentralized Applications (DApps)
A DApp is an application whose back-end logic runs on smart contracts instead of a company’s servers.
In depth
The interface may look like any website, but when you click "swap" or "lend", your wallet signs a transaction that a contract executes on-chain. There is no login — your wallet is your identity — and no operator who can freeze your account. Exchanges, games and marketplaces have all been built this way.
Why it matters
DApps are how most people actually touch DeFi and NFTs.
